This week, we discuss proper etiquette for meeting someone’s mother (w/r/t clipping toenails), and we spend some time talking ourselves up.
We didn’t need the cards to tell Courtney this is a terrible idea. But hey, why trust us? It’s way more legit when the cosmic powers that be tell you what to do. And this week, we consulted those powers via the Alchemical Tarot Deck by Robert M. Place.
The back of the cards is very creepy—a medusa statue holding an iguana and a bird. Also, there’s water coming out of her nipples and a rainbow coming out of her mouth? The front side’s fine. It’s similar to the classic Raider-Waite tarot deck, but with more elemental symbology (that we know nothing about).
This Week’s 3-Card Tarot Reading
The Past: QUEEN OF WANDS | The Present: ACE OF SWORDS | The Future: TEN OF SWORDS
Our advice: In the past, you’ve been a strong independent woman, guided by her own passions and proclivities (Queen of Swords). And right now, in the present moment, it’s time to start something new (Ace of Swords). But make sure that new thing is the right thing (the thing that is not your ex), because swords are double-edged. And soon, something is going to end (Ten of Swords). Hint hint: your relationship with your ex.
The Card of the Week
It’s Halloween, which means this one comes from the Zombie Tarot Deck by Paul Kepple and Stacey Graham.
